March 11, 2021: Elko Weed Forum

Elko District Office (BLM) and Elko County would like to convene a virtual kick-off meeting for  coordination efforts related to weed management. Your participation in  this event is requested. Please refer to the following information on meeting details including next steps and how best to prepare.

WHO:   Agencies/entities responsible for weed management. The hope is that  this meeting will set the stage for the development of a weed  coordination group that will meet annually or biannually and grow over time.

WHAT:  Focus is on weed management including prevention measures, education/outreach, inventory, treatment, and monitoring.

WHEN: March 11, 2021 from 9:00-5:00 with a lunch break from 12:00-1:00.  (Zoom platform will be open at 8:30.)

WHY:  Explore and identify opportunities to better coordinate and share  resources across boundaries to maximize weed management activities over  time.  Ideally, these conversations will result in the development of and/or avenues for future coordination and  resource sharing among partners such as Cooperative Agreements or  Memorandums of Understanding.

WHERE/HOW:  Facilitated Meeting using a Virtual Platform (Zoom.Gov)

Register in advance for this meeting:

https://blm.zoomgov.com/meeting/register/vJItfu6vrDsoHmsD4aOtu-h_kXZ6YlOj_lc

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

If you plan to attend, please complete your  registration using the link provided.  Also, please be prepared to  discuss and share aspects of your weed management program including such  topics as: program of work (targets, how/why they are developed and the prioritization process), jurisdictions/areas of  responsibility, and resource availability (staffing, equipment, funding,  etc.).
